In the year 2003, Abhilashi Educational Society
took a broader step towards starting Teacher Training
Course (B. Ed.) after successfully completing the
formalities of H. P. Govt; NCTE and H. P.U. Shimla-5 and
thus, Abhilashi College of Education came into
existence.
In Abhilashi College of Education, different
courses are being run by Abhilashi Educational Society
viz. B. Ed. and JBT. All these courses are
approved by State Govt. of H. P., recognized by NCTE
and affiliated with H. P. University, Shimla-5 / H. P.
Board of School Education, Dharamshala.
Abhilashi College of Education is located
adjacent to NH-21 at Nerchowk in Distt. Mandi. From
Mandi, it is at a distance of about 12 Kms. and is well
connected with transport facilities from all corners of
the state throughout 24 hours a day. The location of the
college gives a nostalgic feeling of development and
commitment of the society to uplift the rural area and
bring it at par with the towns in terms of providing
quality education.
The motto of the college is ‘Vidya Dadati
Vinayam’ which means “to bestow student-teachers
with right kind of attitude, behaviour and values like
social service, dignity of labour, temperance and spirit
of humility”. For preparing such future teachers, the
college with the committed visionaries in Abhilashi
Educational Society (parent body of the college) and
dedicated faculty members tries to achieve the
following objectives:
- To develop reflective, critical and creative
thinking among prospective teachers.
- To develop inter-personal and social skills along
with right attitude and self-motivation for
continuous learning among prospective
teachers.
- To bring about physical, emotional, intellectual
and ethical integration of student-teachers with
a view of evolving a ‘Complete Teacher’
possessing the basic values of secularism,
national integration and truthfulness
The compound of the institution is surrounded by
lush greenery. The institution has all modern facilities
viz. Good Classrooms, Modern Electronic Gadgets,
Library, Conference Room, Laboratories for different
subjects, Computer Room, Girls Common Room,
Gymnasium, Canteen, Book Bank, Medical and first Aid
Facility, Playground etc.
For smooth functioning of the college and
establishing better personal-social relationships among
s t u d e n t s a n d t e a c h e r s , v a r i o u s
committees/associations are constituted by the college
administration. These mainly constitute Campus
Beautification Committee, Grievances Redressal Cell,
College Students Association, Extension Activities Cell,
Guidance cell, Red Ribbon Club, Examination Cell,
Discipline-cum-Anti Ragging Committee, Co-Curricular
Activities Management Committee and Library Advisory
Committee. The college has made liaison with a local
doctor for providing emergency medical services and
has started book bank facility as well as inter-library
loan system with two adjacent colleges as an additional
facility to the needy students.
The institution has exhibited satisfactory results
during the previous sessions of different courses. The
teaching faculty for different courses is composed of
sincere and dedicated staff coming from different parts
of Himachal Pradesh and India as well. The teaching
staff mainly composed of Principal, Professor, Readers
and Lecturers for JBT, B. Ed. and M. Ed. courses as per
the course requirements.

The admissions to JBT course are made by H.P.
Board of School Education, Dharamshala on the basis of
marks obtained in entrance test. The minimum
eligibility for JBT course will be as prescribed by H.P. Board of School Education. |

|
Admissions to the B. Ed. course are made through entrance examination conducted by H. P. University |
|
Fee Structure |
|
Students are required to pay the amounts as prescribed by H. P. Govt. and H. P. University, Shimla-5 to the college for their admission to the different courses. In addition, H. P. University Examination Fee, Examination Related Fee and Continuation Fee will be charged extra from the students as per H. P. University norms. |

Mode of Payment of Fee |
|
- The first instalment of the admission fee will be
collected from the students during admission
time.
- The students must deposit remaining fees to the
college strictly with in seven days of admission to
the course.
- All payments should be made in time and in exact
amount as on date fixed by the Institution.
- All payments should be made in cash, no demand
drafts or cheques will be entertained in any case.
- Once payment made, will not be refunded in any
case to the students.
- The security money paid to the college by the
students will be refunded to them in the form of
crossed cheque after the declaration of their
final examination results by H.P. University,
Shimla-05.
- The students will not be allowed to take their
examinations if any sort of balance payment is
left on their account.

Attendance Norms |
|
In theory and practical (separately), 75% of
attendance is compulsory for all the students taking
admission in various courses in the college otherwise
they will be debarred from appearing in final
examinations.
Note :- The students taking part in the national/state
level sports/cultural competitions will not be marked
as absent for their respective period of participation in
above mentioned activities. |

Leave Rules |
|
No leave shall be sanctioned except under special
circumstances, provided students fulfil 75% of
attendance condition. The leave to the students shall
be sanctioned only by the Principal on the
recommendation of the concerned Head of the
Department. |
|
Fine Structure |
|
The Fine for remaining absent from theory or practical classes, practice teaching of (B. Ed./M. Ed./JBT students), untimely deposit of library books and re-admission fee will be informed to the students by the college/society before start of classes/session. |
|
Dress Code |
|
Dress code is one of the integral part of discipline which any institution enforces to maintain its dignity and standards. The dress code will be informed to the students before start of classes/ session by the college. Note: Dress code is compulsory and any student not abiding by it, will be subjected to a fine of Rs. 5/- per day. |

Library Rules |
|
- A student will be issued three books at a time for the duration of 14 days. He/she can keep the same after seeking prior permission from the college librarian for another tenure.
- The library books are the property of the college and the students making any sort of damage or loss to them will have to pay double the original price of the respective books.
- Reference books and journals will not be issued Reference books and journals will not be issued consultation in the library
- Students will have to maintain the decorum while consulting the books in the library.
- The students should pay strict attention to the
library rules framed by the college regarding
issuance of the books.

Infrastructure and Other Facilities in the
College |
|
The College building consists of all sort of modern
facilities for providing quality education and training to
the students in various teacher training courses. The
wealth of the resources that institution offers to its
students is organized efficiently and conveniently
accessible. The lecture rooms, where college students
spend a large portion of their time, are modern in
design. They provided students with sufficient personal
instructional space with advanced means. The library,
computer centre, multipurpose hall, science lab.,
educational technology lab., educational psychology
lab., language lab., social science–cum-mathematics
lab. gymnasium, indoor sports room etc. are also
designed and maintained to provide enriched academic
and co-academic experiences in addition of providing a
platform for interaction between students, faculty
members and visiting luminaries.

General Information and Code of Conduct |
|
- Students should maintain the decorum and status of the college.
- Students have to follow all the directions issued by the college from time to time.
- Students have to maintain strict discipline during their course in the college premises.
- If any student found to be undisciplined, a strict action will be taken against him/her.
- Students' cooperation is expected to maintain decorum of the college.
- Any information supplied by the student to the college, if found incorrect, his/her candidature will stand cancelled.
- Students have to attend morning assembly in the college premises every day on compulsory basis. Otherwise, a fine of Rs. 5/- will be charged from the absentees.
- Students not following the dress code will not be allowed to attend their classes on that particular
day.
- Students have to pay all the amount on their own
requi red for the purpose of buying
articles/objects needed for practical
work/assignments.
- Students have to pay double the fine in case they
cause any damage to the college property.
- Any dispute / problem regarding academic and
co-academic activities will be redressed by the
society/principal.
- Students have to follow all the orders /
instructions forwarded by the principal.
- All the complaints and suggestions will be valid if
written in Complaint and Suggestion Register. Verbal complaints will not be entertained in any case by the College Administration.
- Students will have to submit before admission an undertaking on the prescribed form given in this prospectus
- The students will not claim for the refund of fees
once paid in any case what so ever.
- If the course is being discontinued for any reason
or if the student drops out of the course for any
cause, no claim for refund of fees shall be
considered.
- The admission of the student is not transferable
in any case.
- If the students take part in politics or any other
anti-social activities, the college administration
has discretion to cancel his/her admission or
prescribe any other punishment.
- Mobile phones are not allowed in college
premises as well as in classrooms. A strict action
will be taken against the defaulters.
- The Chairman of the Managing Committee of the college has all the powers for controlling the institutional affairs.
Note:- Ragging or any sort of verbal or physical harassment is strictly prohibited in the college and any one indudging in it will be punished accordingly as per the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
For stopping the incidents of ragging in the colleges functioning under Abhilashi Group of institutions “ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE” has been formed in each college. The details of this committee and its functions are pasted on notice boards of concerned college and can also be obtained from the concerned college office. The candidates are advised to bring each and every kind of ragging incident in the notice of the committee members so that necessary action may be taken against the students involved in ragging activities.
